Quill's bubble theme puts the formatting toolbar where the text is: it appears next to the selection and disappears when you click away. This plugin swaps it in for the default GrapesJS rich text editor, which suits a canvas where screen space belongs to the page rather than the chrome.

Options

  • quillOpts — the Quill configuration object, where you define the toolbar's format set, its modules and placeholder behaviour.
  • clipboard — use the plugin's custom clipboard handling, on by default. This governs how pasted content is cleaned before it enters the canvas.

The setup step people miss

Quill's bubble styles must be present in your final output, not only in the editor: include quill.bubble.css in the published page as well. Skip it and text formatted in the editor renders unstyled once the page is live — the plugin's README calls this out explicitly.

Good to know

The plugin registers under the name gjs-quill, which is also its npm package name. The repository's index.html shows a complete working setup.
