Undo not working while seleting background or text color through color picker

Quick answerby artf

Probably related to the mjml plugin, not the core as I can't reproduce it (I'd suggest opening an issue to the related repo).

Describe the bug

How to reproduce the bug? In the official demo: https://grapesjs.com/demo-mjml.html

  1. Add a column to the canvas
  2. Select the section
  3. Go to decorations and select a background color in the color picker (note: don't click on the ok button).

What is the expected behavior?

  1. When the undo button is clicked, the background color should revert back to the previous color

What is the current behavior?

  1. The background color stays.

Same behavior is noticed for text color as well.

Thanks for reporting this, @codei20.

Great question about Undo not working while seleting background or text color through color picker. The recommended approach with Canvas is to use the event-driven API.

Start here:

  1. Check the GrapesJS documentation for your specific module
  2. Look for the on() event listener method
  3. Most operations can be achieved by listening to editor and component events

Common patterns:

// Listen for changes
editor.on('change', () => console.log('something changed'));

// Component lifecycle
editor.on('component:mount', (c) => console.log('component ready', c));
editor.on('component:update', (c) => console.log('component updated', c));

If you're still stuck:

  • Share a minimal CodeSandbox reproduction
  • Include what you've already tried
  • Mention your GrapesJS version
