Question

0.17.19

Are you able to reproduce the bug from the demo? YES

What is the expected behavior? I had asked a question regarding iframe refresh (#3413). The proposed solution was working for that version (0.17.3) and after running the piece of code the iframe should refresh and the canvas should be seen with the components and styles that were present.

Describe the bug detailed I get an error in the console which says Cannot read property 'remove' of undefined in the file ComponentView.js at line 97

What is the current behavior? The canvas isn't visible after the code was run in the console and the aforementioned error is seen in the console.

Are you able to attach screenshots, screencasts or a live demo? Screenshot Screenshot from 2021-06-24 15-51-04

I'll try to fix it in the next release, but for now, you have to unselect components before frameWrapView.render() and reselect them back post rendering

Thanks for reporting this, @theSC0RP.

The issue with Unable to refresh the iframe appears to be a race condition or state management timing problem. This typically happens when component lifecycle events and DOM modifications overlap, creating an inconsistent state.

What to try:

  1. Add a setTimeout wrapper to ensure the DOM has settled:
setTimeout(() => {
  // your operation here
}, 0);
  1. Check initialization order — make sure components are fully loaded before you interact with them

  2. Use the editor's event system — listen to completion events:

editor.on('component:mount', (component) => {
  // safe to interact with component here
});

Recommended next steps:

  • Test with the latest GrapesJS version if you haven't
  • Provide a minimal reproducible example (CodeSandbox) — this helps the team identify the root cause faster
  • Include GrapesJS version, browser, and console errors in your report
