Question

GrapesJS version

  • I confirm to use the latest version of GrapesJS

What browser are you using?

chrome latest version

Reproducible demo link

none as it has way too much custom code with react and things like that

Describe the bug

How to reproduce the bug? add more styles to editor with setStyles

here is the string that I had in setStyles

.test {
  display: block;
}
.test .hide {
  display: none;
}
.btn {
  background:white;
}
.fresh {
  background: white;
}
.fresh .fresh-2 {
  border: 1px red solid;
}

What is the expected behavior? add multiple styles to the editor

What is the current behavior? add only the ones that are child so it's even stranger

so for the moment it adds only those ones

.fresh .fresh-2 {
  border: 1px red solid;
}
.test .hide {
  display: none;
}

If is necessary to execute some code in order to reproduce the bug, paste it here below: no code necessary to test it juste setStyle from editor API

and when I try to add this

.custom-shape-divider-bottom-1659425552 {
  position: absolute;
  bottom: 0;
  left: 0;
  width: 100%;
  overflow: hidden;
  line-height: 0;
  transform: rotate(180deg);
}

.custom-shape-divider-bottom-1659425552 svg {
  position: relative;
  display: block;
  width: calc(100% + 1.3px);
  height: 109px;
}

.custom-shape-divider-bottom-1659425552 .shape-fill {
  fill: #ffffff;
}

it only adds this

.custom-shape-divider-bottom-1659425552 svg {
  position: relative;
  display: block;
  width: calc(100% + 1.3px);
  height: 109px;
}

.custom-shape-divider-bottom-1659425552 .shape-fill {
  fill: #ffffff;
}

@bovealexandre provide at least a minimal reproducible example as from what I can see right now it might be your custom code the reason

Thanks for reporting this, @bovealexandre.

Great question about setStyle. The recommended approach with StyleManager is to use the event-driven API.

Start here:

  1. Check the GrapesJS documentation for your specific module
  2. Look for the on() event listener method
  3. Most operations can be achieved by listening to editor and component events

Common patterns:

// Listen for changes
editor.on('change', () => console.log('something changed'));

// Component lifecycle
editor.on('component:mount', (c) => console.log('component ready', c));
editor.on('component:update', (c) => console.log('component updated', c));

If you're still stuck:

  • Share a minimal CodeSandbox reproduction
  • Include what you've already tried
  • Mention your GrapesJS version
